What is MNEOS?
MNEOS (Institute for Memory & Intelligent Systems) is a computational engineering institution. It connects scientific knowledge, AI, simulation, experiments, manufacturing, and institutional memory so difficult engineering problems can be solved faster, and the knowledge gained is not lost.
What is DOS?
DOS is the MNEOS memory and evidence substrate: a governed institutional-memory and provenance layer in daily internal use. It preserves the question, reasoning, decision, evidence, and outcome together so each becomes the starting point for the next question.
What is operating today, and what is still planned?
Operational: the DOS memory and evidence substrate; federal engineering programs with USMC, NAVSEA, and ONR customers; research in computational engineering methods, ceramic additive manufacturing, RF materials, memory architecture, and mathematical foundations; the public Learning hub and Library. In development: dedicated research pages on the lineage of inquiry, foundations of reasoning, and mathematical sciences. Planned: an interactive engineering demonstration. MNEOS distinguishes between principles, current capabilities, active development, and long-term architecture and does not blur those categories.
Who founded MNEOS?
David W. Sherrer, who founded Haleos (acquired 2002) and Nuvotronics (acquired 2019), led DARPA Phase I–III execution on the PolyStrata RF microsystems platform, built qualified manufacturing capability, and is an inventor on 125+ issued patents worldwide.
How does MNEOS relate to NuvoNexus, MacroVation, and Helicon Defense?
NuvoNexus, LLC is the holding and operating platform. MNEOS is its computational-engineering and institutional-intelligence initiative. MacroVation is the federal contracting, materials R&D, and prototype-systems company. Helicon Defense (a NuvoNexus d/b/a) transitions allied defense technology into U.S. capability, using the MNEOS memory and evidence substrate.

MNEOS works with a small number of collaborators: universities, laboratories, companies, research institutes, government organizations, foundations, and individual scientists, through research, engineering, infrastructure, and other partnership pathways described at mneos.ai/partnerships/.
